cold drink seals

Yiching says--

Most people know that we seal our cold drink cups, and once in a while we have to change the roll on the machine when it's "empty." It's kind of interesting (read: difficult) doing so, but look at the fun roll of films where the seals are gone! It's fun(ish).

4-bean espresso blend

Yiching Says--

So the mystery blend last week was an experimental espresso blend. It was yummy, and John has been testing and blending more since. The other day he showed me an improved blend. I checked the beans and noticed the significant size differences in beans, and the great aroma it gives. And check out the one on the right... it's super long for some reason! Ok we've gotta have John blog about the beans on here some time.

yet another mystery blend

Yiching says--

John roasted some coffee and created another mystery blend this past weekend. We're going to test these beans very soon and I'll find out exactly what the mystery blend is.

I spotted different size beans in the blend. I mean, some of the beans are giant while the others are tiny!

swirl on top

Yiching says--

It's raining here in Salt Lake today and it's fabulous! After making a few drinks this morning, I started to think about pouring different designs on lattes. I guess I'll be studying that for a while.

I poured this one in a 16oz cup. See the little swirl on top? Isn't it cute!

roasting

Yiching says--

John's Roasting to Order has been picking up. He's had to order quite a few new green coffee recently. When you come into the caffe and see him staring at the roaster and talking to the beans... that's normal, so don't be afriad.

and they were robbed

Ryan who works at the board shop next door came to get coffee today and told us a crazy story.

A guy went in to their shop last night, looked at stuff, and asked Adam (one of the owners of the shop) if he had his size certain style shoes. Adam went to the back room to grab the shoes and when he came out the guy apparently had grabbed a specialty longboard and took off. Adam ran out the door and saw the guy just got out of the buildling.

Adam ran after the guy, only to find that the thief was gone. Ryan said the stolen longboard was top of the line and so far no one has bought one yet.

I felt really bad for the board shop. When their stuff is stolen, they lose hundreds of dollars. I guess my under $100 loss over the stolen jewelry was not that bad... but still, f*(& the scum bag thieves!

stolen

Yiching says--

I just found that somebody stole stuff from my little boutique at the caffe. I picked these great Hello Kitty and other great design steel key chains while we were in Japan.

I put some out and people love them! However I just found out that a 3-piece Hello Kitty and a Star with crystals key chains ($60 value!)were stolen! I'm sad. I try to bring fun and pretty things to people and allow them freedome to browse the boutique, but then these lovely key chains were stolen, along with some other chunky rings a few weeks ago... boooooo!

Booooo the person/people who stole my stuff, and don't blame the language I'm using toward the person/people in my head, I'm just going to gently put those words down as f&*# 'em. f&*# 'em 'til they rot in h&*#.
